High
quality vacuum castings are produced by ensuring
first class master models are utilized in this
process. As the tooling process takes every detail
of the master model and copies it is essential
the master pattern is as accurate and well finished
as possible. Masters are usually made via the
SLA route but SLS CNC or Hand made models have
all been used successfully.
The range of Poly Urethane materials avalable
to Amtech is second to non and we reserch the
best available on the market to ensure the best
product not the cheapest. This broad range of
resins and material properties emulate the broad
spectrum of thermoplastics and elastomerics including
nylons, ABS, PP and PC. Properties such as high
heat resistance, transparency and translucency,
flame retardancy and UV stability are readily
available along with infinite variation on colour
and finish.
Silicone tools are very low cost and fast based
on a master pattern and dependent on part geometry
can typically produce between 20 plus parts before
requiring replacement.
The quick production of replacement tools makes
the system suitable for production runs between
2 and 2000 parts
Components are typically available within 3 days
of master pattern approval. Accuracies of 0.2mm
are typical with Amtech able to undertake wall
thickness down to 0.3mm for complex geometries.
Intricate components are possible with undercuts
and cores and Amtech has built significant experience
in overmoulding and insert moulding.
